Our headquarters will be the Georgetown Mountain Inn, but there will also be rooms available at America’s Best Value Inn, Hotel Chateau Chamonix, and places available to rent in town. For more info on lodging, go here:

What about transportation?
From Denver – There are multiple mountain shuttle services, communicate with each other via our Facebook page

It is unlikely you would want transportation once you reach Georgetown; if you wished to explore the broader area there is Black Diamond for bike rentals.

What is your harassment policy?
The Ghost Town Writers Retreat is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone (regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion). We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference, without a refund, at the discretion of the conference organizers. Our anti-harassment policy can be found at:

What do I get for my admission fee?

Every full membership gets: an attendee gift bag, admission to all of the programming at the Heritage Center, admission to the grill and greet, admission to the Music Night, admission to the Movie Night, admission to the S’mores and Ghost Stories event, admission to the booksigning event (which you can also sign at, if you wish), use of the Con Suite, a copy of the conference book, an attendee badge which gets you discounts all around town, and Mile High Writers Guide.

Is the price all inclusive?
While the price of your membership includes a ton of fun stuff, it does not include meals, the steam train rides, the mine write-in, the ghost tour, or any shopping you do around town. But, your badge will get you discounts at many of those places. T-shirts and other swag can be purchased at an additional price.

How many attendees will be there?
Our attendance is capped at 150 to insure an intimate event. Tickets are limited, and are expected to sell out.

In the event of complete cancellation the conference fee will be refunded. We ask that you consider your fee an investment in a total experience, and not in an individual guest. Lodging fees are subject to the policies of the provider. Merchandise refunds will be issued only in the event of a defective product through our partners. Third party fees are also subject to the policy of their providers.
